  In the early 80's, he was tested for the role of James Bond.

  Director John Boorman of Excalibur, never refers to him by name on his commentary track for the DVD.

  A scene was deleted from Excalibur featuring him as Lancelot rescuing Guinevere (Cherie Lunghi) from a forest bandit. The scene appeared in the film's theatrical trailer.

  A rumor stated that the film studio for Excalibur paid him an extra $10,000 to allow them to make a surgical incision in his side in order to insert the sword for the scene where he fights himself. John Boorman proved this false.
