I had no idea until today that Nicholas Clay had died. I was watching my Excalibur DVD(I also own Lady Chatterley's Lover). I just decided to check online to see what new projects he had planned and found out about is death so many years ago. I'm crushed! What a wonderful actor and beautiful man. I feel so bad for his family.Unfortunately, since I'm in the USA, I don't have access to any of his tv work. But,it sounds like he was very gifted in all of his work.

Recently, I had the pleasure of watching Nicholas in the 1981 filming of 'Lady Chatterley's Lover'. Of all the versions, this is by far, my favorite. I plan to buy it for my own collection. It is just a wonderful film and I love his acting. It was easy to see why "Connie" fell in love with him. I look forward to watching ExCaliber, to see Nicholas play the role of Sir Lancelot - never saw it in the theaters. But I found your website to learn what he might be doing, at this point in time, and felt sad to hear he had passed - way too soon. His memory lives among these beautiful pages!

I just watched the "Night Digger" also known as "The Road Builder" with Nicholas and Patricia Neal. I have always been a fan of his wonderful sense of timing as an actor and what man or woman could not be absolutely taken aback by his piercing blue eyes and handsome features. I have always been sad by his early passing and the immense talent we only got a glimpse of during his short life.

Auguri mister Nicola, rimarrai nei miei ricordi come l'affascinante Glauco de Gli ultimi giorni di Pompei.

I just discovered this site, and wanted to add that I have been a fan of Nicholas Clay from the time I saw him in The Darwin Advenure and many other wonderful achievements. He was a remarkable actor as a young man and in the coming years excelled in many fine productions, some of them Shakesperean. I was very grieved to hear of his early death, and I think this is a wonderful way to honor his memory. My heart goes out to his wife and children and other family members.

nicholas clay was a wonderful actor and obviously intelligent when one reads his interviews. he was serious about his acting not just a surface hancsome man who could have done anything to propel himself into the mainstream. since he chose not to i am sorry for those who do know his acting. it is a shame he is no longer with us but thankfully there are kind people who go to such lengths to give us access to his memory. thank you for that. and thank you nick clay for your remarkable memory. i love all your movies and wish i could have known you on stage. you must have been exceptional there too.

He was a star and had real star quality...I was lucky enough to have seen him in 1998 in soho sq..London...we smiled at each other and gave a friendly wave....I knew he had passed away about 6 years ago....Such a shame a talent and a handsome man...a man's man...sadly missed....However we can watch him on d.v.d..And by doing so keep is spirit alive...
